Privacy Policy

Draft, last updated 1 November 2026.

Draft. This policy must be reviewed by a lawyer before Talkuru takes paying customers.

Who we are

Talkuru ("we") provides live chat software as an online service. Contact us about privacy at support@talkuru.com. We handle personal data in line with applicable data protection laws, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where they apply.

Two kinds of data

  1. Account data (we are the controller): your name, email address, company name, the websites you add and how you use your dashboard.
  2. Visitor and chat data (we are the processor; our customer is the controller): when a website uses Talkuru, we process data about that website's visitors on the website owner's behalf, including chat messages, files they send, the pages they view, time on site, browser and device, and an approximate location derived from their IP address. IP addresses are masked by default.

How we use account data

  • To create and run your account and keep it secure.
  • To send you service emails (email confirmation, password reset, important changes).
  • To answer your support requests.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use chat contents for advertising.

Where data is kept and for how long

Each customer's chat data is stored in its own separate database tables and folders. Chat history is kept for the period of the customer's plan, or until the customer deletes it. When a customer deletes their account, their chats, visitors, tickets and files are removed.

Cookies

This website uses a session cookie when you log in. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it in the cookie notice. The chat widget on our customers' websites stores a visitor ID in the browser's local storage so returning visitors can continue their conversation.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use, by emailing support@talkuru.com. If you chatted with one of our customers, contact that website owner first; we will help them answer you. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

We will post any changes here and update the date at the top.
